Certification Process

Achieving accredited management system certification is a structured, transparent journey designed to evaluate your operational practices, ensure conformity with international standards, and drive continual business improvement.

The detailed of certification process

1. Inception & Scoping

  • Request for a Certification Proposal: The organization contacts BSC or BCert to indicate interest in certifying their management system against a designated standard.
  • Pre-Proposal Questionnaire: The client completes a basic scoping questionnaire outlining key company parameters, such as industry sector, headcount, operational processes, and physical or remote sites.
  • Our Proposal: BSC formulates a transparent, formal proposal calculating audit mandays, schedules, and associated service fees based on the questionnaire data.
  • Proposal Decision Gate:
    • Not Accepted: The request process concludes without proceeding.
    • Accepted: The organization confirms acceptance and progresses to the formal certification onboarding phase.

2. Application & Optional Readiness Check

  • Application Form: The client formally submits the finalized application documentation to register for the assessment program.
  • Gap Analysis Check:
    • Yes (Requested): BSC conducts a preliminary gap analysis assessment to benchmark the client’s existing management system against the standard requirements, highlighting areas needing alignment prior to formal audits.
    • No (Not Requested): The engagement bypasses the optional gap analysis step and proceeds directly to the formal Stage 1 audit.

3. Formal Two-Stage Assessment

  • Stage 1 Audit:
    • The auditor reviews system documentation, verifies statutory and regulatory compliance mechanisms, assesses site readiness, and plans the Stage 2 audit scope.
    • Stage 1 NCR Resolution Gate: If any non-conformity reports (NCRs) or areas of concern are identified, they must be addressed and actioned by the client before the assessment can move forward.
  • Stage 2 Audit:
    • The audit team conducts a comprehensive assessment of live operations, evaluating staff implementation, process effectiveness, records, and overall system conformity.
    • Stage 2 NCR Resolution Gate: If NCRs are raised, the client must submit corrective action plans and evidence of implementation. Once accepted and closed out, the file proceeds to technical verification.

4. Technical Review & Certificate Issuance

  • Review the Report: An independent technical reviewer or certification committee evaluates the complete audit package, evidence, and auditor recommendations to ensure absolute objectivity and compliance with accreditation criteria.
  • Registration: Upon approval, the organization is recorded in the official BSC registry of certified companies.
  • Issuing the Certificate: BSC issues the formal accredited certificate, detailing the scope of certification, certified address, valid standards, and tracking numbers.

5. Sustained Compliance & Lifecycle Maintenance

  • Surveillance Audits: Routine periodic surveillance audits are conducted (typically annually) throughout the 3-year certification cycle to ensure the system remains consistently effective and compliant.
  • Recertification: Prior to the expiration of the three-year certificate term, a recertification audit is conducted to renew and sustain ongoing certification for another full cycle
